Sahasra Chandi Maha Yagnam starts today in San Jose, California

“The deity named ChaNDI is the highest Brahman, the queen through whom the crown is inherited.” -- ShrI BhAskararAyA (in the Guptavatī)

The dēvi mahātmyam — also referred to as ChaṇdI or durgā saptasatī is the world’s most widely used hymn to propitiate the Goddess as energy or ShaktI. It comprises 700 verses on the Goddess as Divine Mother. The ChaṇdI is a powerful, boundary-less, living representation of the Goddess as Energy. It combines and bridges vēda, āgama (tantrā) and mantrā in an unparalleled fashion and is the cornerstone of India’s shāktā traditions. It is a fully advaitic (non-dual) scripture: it contains within itself the keys to radically change our perspective and ultimately experience ourselves as “ONE” with the universe around us.

By the grace of our illustrious and unbroken Guru Mandala hailing from Sri Bhāskararāya, we, the disciples of Bhaskara Prakasha Ashram are poised to perform, the first ever Sahasra Chandi Maha Yagna on the West coast of North America. The sankalpā for this Yagna was incepted almost one year ago — immediately following the 2018 Satachandi mahā Yagna. The Yagna is performed for the welfare and prosperity of the Greater San Francisco Bay Area and the West Coast of the United States.

Disciples from our Ashram have already completed 1000 pārayanams along with 1,000,000 navākshari mūla mantra japam.

During the event that spans 9 days from July 26th to August 4th, 2019, we will be completing 100 Chandi Homams and 100,000 navākshari mūla mantra homams.
