Our sincere pranams to Sri Gnanananda Teertha Swamigal as we move forward with these events. We are blessed to have Sri K.R. Yegnarathnam Dikshithar from India to lead these Yagnams as the Chandi Homam Acharya.

Devi Mahatmyam from the Markandeya Purana consists of thirteen chapters or Adhyayas and has in total 700 mantras. Each Adhyaya or chapter of Devi Mahatmyam has a presiding deity or Devata. Normally, in a Devi Mahatmyam Parayanam or Chandi Homam, this presiding deity called Adhyaya Devata is invoked and hailed once at the end of a chapter.
This year, BPA disciples in Toronto took a sankalpam of reciting Devi Mahatmyam 100 times invoking the Adhyaya Devata with every mantra of Devi Mahatmyam so as to perform the SHATA Chandi Homam also by offering Ahutis to the Adhyaya Devata with each of the 700 mantras.
We invite you all to come and be part of this special and exclusive Chandi Homam to receive Chandika Mahalakshmi’s blessings. We will also be performing Sri Vidya Navavarana Homam and other important and auspicious homams during the event.

Sahasrachandi Maha Yagnam requires performance of minimum of 1000 Durga Saptasathi (Devi Mahatmyam) Paarayanams, 100 Durga Saptasathi Homam, 1,000,000 Navakshari Japam, 100,000 Ahutis of Navakshari Mula Mantra, and detailed performance of many rituals. Let us join together to invoke Goddess Chandika Mahalakshmi and seek Her blessings for the well being of entire community.

Saturday, the 10th of August (3PM-8:30 PM) The program begins with the Poorvanga poojas and a recitation of Devi Mahatmyam followed by Sri Lalitha Sahasranamam and Sri Lalitha Trishati Stotra parayanam.
On Sunday the 11th of August, (6:30 AM-1:00PM) our Acharyas will perform the Ganapathy Homam, Navagraha Homam, Rashi, Nakshatra, Purusha Sookta, Sri Sooktha, and Chandi Homams (Chandi Homam starts around 8:30 AM).
